The WEST-E Middle Grades Mathematics Exam is designed to test prospective teachers for the skills and knowledge required to teach math in Washington public schools. As of September 2015, the WEST-E Middle Grades Math exam has been replaced by the NES Middle Grades Math. This exam is a computer based test, with 150 multiple-choice questions, and lasting 4 hours and 15 minutes. The questions are divided into 4 content domains: (I) number sense and algebra, (II) algebra and functions, (III) measurement and geometry, (IV) statistics, probability, and discrete mathematics.
