How to Become a Case Manager Nurse
The first step to becoming a Case Manager Nurse is to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. After obtaining your degree, you will be required to take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam to become a registered nurse.
Many nurse case managers also choose to earn a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in case management or a related field.
You should then log at least 2 years of work experience as a Registered Nurse. During this time, you should aim to achieve 2,000 hours of clinical case management experience and take 30 hours of continuing education in case management nursing training.
After you log this time and complete your continuing education, you will then be able to sit for the Case Management Nurse exam.
