The MTEL Reading Specialist Exam is designed to measure individuals’ knowledge on the test’s 5 content objectives: (I) Reading Processes and Development, (II) Reading Assessment, (III) Reading Instruction, (IV) Professional Knowledge and Roles of the Reading Specialist, and (V) Integration of Knowledge and Understanding. There are 100 multiple choice questions, and 2 open response items which make up the test. The test lasts about 4 hours.
