Therefore, \(\frac{3}{4}\) is equal to 0.75 as a decimal. It’s as easy as that!

💡 Convert \(\frac{3}{8}\) to a decimal.

Just like the last example, you just need to divide the numerator by the denominator. In this case, we need to divide 3 by 8.

Because 8 doesn’t go into 3, we need to add a decimal point and a zero to 3, making it 3.0. Then, we can perform long division:

Therefore, \(\frac{3}{8}\) is equal to 0.375 as a decimal!

💡 Convert \(\frac{3}{8}\) to a percentage.

To convert a fraction to a percentage, we first need to convert it to a decimal (see above).

\(3 \div 8=0.375\)

Then, we need to multiply the decimal by 100, which moves the decimal point two places to the right:

\(0.375 \times 100 = 37.5\)

Therefore, \(\frac{3}{8}\) is equal to 37.5%!

To simplify, find the greatest common divisor (GCD) of 12 and 16, which is 4. Then, divide both the numerator and denominator by 4.

\(16 \div 4 = 4\)
