ANCC Certification Renewal

To maintain your ANCC certification, you will need to go through the renewal process, which may include completing a certain number of continuing education (CE) hours, verifying clinical practice hours, and meeting other specific criteria outlined by ANCC. Typically, you will need to renew your ANCC certification every five years.

The exact details of the certification renewal process may differ depending on your certification, but you will generally have to meet the following renewal eligibility requirements:

  • You must hold a current RN license in the US
  • You must hold a current ANCC board certification
  • You must complete the mandatory 75 continuing education hours
  • You must complete at least one of the eight certification renewal categories
